Our Philosophy

Our curriculum is designed to support whole-child development by integrating the

following approaches:

Imagination and
Creativity
as Foundations

Inspired by Waldorf/Steiner,

stories, arts, movement, and

nature are woven into lessons,

making creativity central to how

children understand the world.

Connection to nature remains

fundamental.

Integrated Academics

Academic skills (literacy,

numeracy, sciences, cultural studies) are taught in English, in meaningful  Waldorf-style main lessons, and reinforced via skills practice.

Mixed-Age Learning

Younger students learn from

older peers, while older ones

build empathy and leadership

by guiding the younger—

creating a collaborative

classroom where everyone

grows at their own pace.

Socio-Emotional
Nurturing

A focus on empathy, resilience,

and self-awareness ensures

children grow not only in

knowledge but in their ability to

relate to others and to

themselves.

Assessed against CCSS

Sombok assesses learning objectives set out by the Family Partnership Common Core State Standards Initiative, with the goal to meet developmental and academic expectations along the way.
